June 21: Our tour bus to us on a visit
to the Rovisco Garcia
Cork Farm |
Francisco, our host, and his daughter drove us
around their family farm in a tractor trailer |
This is a working cork farm and as we
drove through the forest of cork trees we learned how the bark is harvested |
Cork trees are harvested every nine
years, and are marked with the year of the harvest |
Their grandparents house provided the
location for a delicious lunch with some of their estate wines |
